A few days ago, I was reading an article that mentioned the book Platform: Get noticed in a noisy world, it called my attention. I researched about the book and I thought, “Oh, this is for me”. I found in the book the answers I was looking for; the book has helped me a lot.
Michael Hyatt explains very well how to build a consistent platform and why it is so important; he explains it step-by-step and makes it seems so simple. It´s easy to understand the whole process.
In the book, the author shares his experiences revealing his secrets to create a “wow product” as he names an excellent and irrefutable product. He really teaches how to make it! He mentions other professionals, sites, books, products, software, and tools to improve a blog, a product, a career.
He also talks about social media, how to get followers, to protect your content, to get in touch with people. He gives precious tips to divulge a product and the best ways to do it.
If you, like me, is looking for more information about market, or looking for an opportunity to get noticed and get published, you must read this book. It´s very enlightening and will give you a new perspective of the market.
The literary market has changed a lot in the last years, as well the way literary agents and publishers have chosen authors and books to represent and publish. It´s impossible to get there without a new plan, a good and consistent platform.
I´ve had to review my concepts and change my approach. Many tips of the book I was already using, others were new for me. I´ve followed some of them and I´ve liked the results.
The book isn´t useful only for writers, but also for public speakers, bloggers, business owners, entrepreneurs…
According to his words: “Having an awesome product, an outstanding service, or a compelling cause is no longer enough”.
